"The Satanic Temple set up a website where women seeking an abortion can print out a letter for her healthcare provider explaining why she is exempt from informed consent mandates.
The letter reads that ‘[a]ll women who share our deeply held belief that their personal choices should be made with access to the best available information, undiluted by biased or false information, are free to seek protection with this exemption whether they are members of the Satanic Temple or not.’”
This is outstanding.
There is this website called Thrift Books and I just got $66.90 worth of books for $19.93 (five books). Shipping was free. You’re welcome.

Does anyone else find it odd that our society expects 14-year-old kids to know what jobs they will want for the rest of their lives, but doesn’t believe an adult woman when she says she doesn’t want to be a mother?

An irate german woman called me a fat whore yesterday and now I’m sitting in bed in my underwear eating chocolate.
Might as well live the life…
“I find that most people don’t think that communicating with the people around them—like what we’re doing right now—is something they should do.
I grew up in suburbia and people live in very close proximity to one another and yet never speak to each other. Maybe they know that Tim down the street takes his garbage out on Tuesdays and works construction—and that’s about it. I think the first step in making a country great is getting to know other people. I think the problem is in that independent streak we have as Americans: We believe that ‘you have to pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ idea, but that’s very isolating.”
Fun little trick I learned in therapy: validation. When someone is upset, don’t try to fix the problem, point out the cause, or tell them it could be worse. Just validate their emotions. Be like, ‘shit yeah man, that sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’m here for you.’ That’s literally all you have to do to make them feel better. Thank you and goodnight.
whenever you feel like calling marius pontmercy a coward, just think about how much confidence it took for him to stand up in a room full of republicans and announce that he was a bonapartist
just think about that
or to stand up…
